Job summary

Early Years Academy is seeking a Nursery Room Leader for a Peterborough nursery, to lead a room, support children's learning and create a nurturing environment.

You will implement EYFS, safeguarding, monitor progress, and work with parents and the Nursery Manager. Term-time only follows the academic calendar.

This role suits an experienced room leader seeking leadership progression; salary is to be confirmed during recruitment.

Qualifications

• A recognised Level 3 qualification or above in Childcare or Early Years.
• Previous nursery/preschool experience.
• Experience as Nursery Room Leader or Senior Practitioner.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS framework.
• Good safeguarding understanding and child protection responsibilities.
• Experience planning stimulating learning experiences.
• Ability to observe and assess children's progress.
• Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily nursery room operations with high childcare standards.
• Motivate and support practitioners to maintain a professional team.
• Plan and oversee age-appropriate learning activities.
• Ensure EYFS learning and development are supported.
• Monitor observations, assessments, and progress.
• Support children's communication, independence, wellbeing.
