Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a Part-Time Playgroup Practitioner to support children in a Leicester setting during term time. The role offers 16-22 hours per week, £12.71 per hour, and starts Oct/Nov 2026.

You will plan and deliver engaging activities, support social, emotional, physical and cognitive development, and liaise with families. Applicants need Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare, 2 years' nursery experience, and EYFS knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification.
• At least 2 years' recent experience in a nursery, preschool or playgroup setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEN/SEND (SENCO experience would be advantageous).
• Good understanding of the EYFS Framework.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A positive, patient and nurturing approach.
• Flexibility to work between 8:30am and 3:00pm, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities.
• Supporting children's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
• Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Monitoring children's progress and contributing to learning journals.
• Supporting children with additional needs, including SEN/SEND.
• Providing feedback to parents and carers.
• Maintaining a safe, welcoming and organised learning environment.
• Assisting with daily set-up and pack-away.
• Working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
• Following EYFS requirements, safeguarding procedures and playgroup policies.
