Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting a Part-Time Playgroup Practitioner for term-time, based in Leicester (LE3). The role offers 16–22 hours per week, within a 8:30am–3:00pm window, and£12.71 per hour.

Start date October/November 2026. You will work within a supportive early years team, delivering EYFS-aligned activities and safeguarding children. The ideal candidate has Level 3 in Early Years, at least two years of nursery/ preschool experience, and a nurturing, patient approach.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification required.
• Minimum 2 years’ recent nursery/preschool/playgroup experience.
• Experience with SEN/SEND support advantageous.
• Solid understanding of the EYFS Framework.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

About the Role:

As a Playgroup Practitioner, you'll help create a fun, safe and nurturing environment where children can develop confidence, curiosity and a love of learning through play.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities
• Supporting children's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development
• Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
• Monitoring children's progress and contributing to learning journals
• Supporting children with additional needs, including SEN/SEND
• Providing feedback to parents and carers
• Maintaining a safe, welcoming and organised learning environment
• Assisting with daily set-up and pack-away
• Working collaboratively as part of a supportive team
• Following EYFS requirements, safeguarding procedures and playgroup policies

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking someone who is caring, reliable, organised and passionate about early years education.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum Level 3 Early Years/Childcare Qualification
• At least 2 years' recent experience in a nursery, preschool or playgroup setting
• Experience supporting children with SEN/SEND (SENCO experience would be advantageous)
• Good understanding of the EYFS Framework
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A positive, patient and nurturing approach
• Flexibility to work between 8:30am and 3:00pm, Monday-Friday

• 16-22 hours per week
