Job summary

Caterlink is seeking a Chef Manager for The Oaks Primary School in Crawley to provide nutritionally balanced, tasty meals during term-time. The role offers 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 38 weeks per year, at £13.75 per hour.

Lead kitchen operations, supervise staff, manage inventories and budgets, and ensure Health & Safety and Food Safety standards are met. You will be the main client contact, drive improvements, and support training and KPI achievement.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen operations and supervising staff.
• Ability to manage inventories and budgets.
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety and Food Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• To prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure location meets Health & Safety, Food Safety and environmental laws.
• Maintain Caterlink's reputation by delivering high-quality food and service.
• Oversee day-to-day running, supervise teams, manage inventories and budgets.
• Serve as main client contact at the school, drive improvements.
• Communicate with line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets.
• Lead and train teams, ensuring training completion and performance management.
