Job summary

Caterlink is hiring a Chef Manager at The Oaks Primary School, Crawley for term-time only, 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday and no weekends. The role pays £13.75 per hour and runs 38 weeks per year.

You will prepare, cook and present meals to high standards, ensure health and safety compliance, lead the on-site team, manage inventories and budgets, and act as the main client contact to drive continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale catering environments is beneficial.
• Ability to manage kitchen teams and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental compliance.
• Maintain Caterlink’s reputation for quality and service and exceed expectations.
• Oversee day-to-day location operations, inventories and budgets.
• Be main client contact at the school and drive improvements.
• Communicate with line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets.
• Support and train teams, lead by example, ensure training and performance management.
