Job summary

Alton Park Junior School in Tendring is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to implement whole-school behaviour strategies and provide direct support for pupils with behavioural difficulties.

You will work with teachers, parents and carers, promote restorative approaches, maintain accurate records, and help create a safe, inclusive environment during term-time hours (27.5 per week, 38 weeks per year). The Sigma Trust supports a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
• Ability to demonstrate a range of effective behaviour strategies.
• Strong communication with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding and inclusion policies.

Responsibilities

• Implement whole-school behaviour policies and procedures.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural difficulties.
• Liaise with senior leaders, teachers and parents regarding behaviour and progress.
• Promote restorative approaches to conflict resolution.
• Supervise and support pupils isolated from lessons.
• Maintain accurate records and reports on incidents and interventions.
