Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Support Assistant for a welcoming secondary school in Preston. You will provide tailored, one-on-one support to a KS3/KS4 student with an EHCP, helping them engage with lessons and access learning.

You will work closely with the SENCO and teachers to implement EHCP targets, support communication, and manage sensory needs. A patient, collaborative approach will support the student’s independence and inclusion throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Direct experience supporting children with additional needs such as ASC/ADHD/MLD/SLCN/SEMH.
• Calm, encouraging nature and strong relationship-building skills.
• Ability to adapt resources to match pupil pace and learning style.

Responsibilities

• Targeted 1:1 academic support to a pupil in KS3/KS4 with EHCP.
• EHCP target implementation with SENCO and teachers.
• Sensory & physical support, movement breaks, calming learning environment.
