Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Tender Planner to work with Transportation out of Golborne, with some travel to sites as required. The role focuses on pre-construction planning, resourced programmes and risk management for rail and infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will prepare schedules, support the estimator, and contribute to bid reviews. Experience on Network Rail schemes or major infrastructure is desirable, with proficiency in P6, Asta, TILOS or QSRA.

Qualifications

• Prepare a resourced programme and review conformance with expectations and requirements.
• Contribute to the risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
• Prepare visual material in support of planned methods.
• Define methods and outputs with estimator and supply chain involvement.
• Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and indirect costs.
• Attend the bid review meeting to articulate work scope and delivery approach.
• Advise project team of required feedback reports and support with consultant input.

A day in the life of a Murphy Tender Planner:

• Assimilate information and summarise it in a manner that can be used to communicate the work scope to others.
• Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements.
• Contribute to the risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
• Prepare visual material in support of planned methods.
• Define methods and establish outputs, in consultation with the estimator and other team members, including the supply chain in appropriate circumstances.
• Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect cost items.
• Attend the bid review meeting to contribute a clear view of the work scope and the intentions for delivering it by reference to prepared material.
• In consultation with Estimator advise project team of required feedback reports and support.

• Experience working on Network Rail schemes and/or Major Infrastructure project is desirable.
• Must have previous pre construction/ tender planning experience
• Use of planning software (P6, Asta, TILOS, QSRA).
• Active experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques in serving both tendering and contract delivery.
• A clear understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function.
