Job summary

Murphy in Tilbury is seeking a Planner to join the Ground Engineering and Piling business, supporting the Lower Thames Crossing from our JV office in Tilbury.

You will establish relationships with project teams, prepare resourced programmes and contribute to risk analysis, while training teams to read and use the programme effectively and managing contract interfaces.

Qualifications

• Experience on Civil Engineering and/or Construction projects.
• Experience working on HV Power, Transmission & Distribution projects.
• Proficient with planning software: P6, Asta, TILOS, QSRA.
• Understanding of commercial and contractual interfaces with planning.
• Knowledge of Project Controls and creating simple visuals.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with project teams.
• Assimilate information and summarise it for work scope communication.
• Prepare a resourced programme and review conformance with requirements.
• Contribute to risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
• Prepare visual material in support of planned methods.
• Manage project documentation in an orderly fashion.
• Support the team as advisor on programme related contractual matters.
• Train Project teams to read and use the programme effectively.
• Set up and maintain Project Controls to evaluate status and flag challenges.
• Handle multiple projects and submissions with organisation and eye for detail.

Murphy is recruiting for a Planner to work within our Ground Engineering and Piling Business, supporting Lower Thames Crossing from our JV office, in Tilbury.

A Day in the life of a Murphy Planner:

• Establish and maintain the relationship with project teams
• Assimilate information and summarise it in a manner that can be used to communicate the work scope to others.
• Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements.
• Contribute to the risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
• Prepare visual material in support of planned methods.
• Manage personally controlled project documentation in an orderly fashion.
• Support the team as experienced advisor on programme related contractual matters
• Train Project teams to read and use the programme in the most effective way
• Set up and maintain Project Controls that allow to evaluate the project status and flag any potential challenge
• Handle multiple projects and submissions through organisation and eye for detail
