Job summary

Countrywide Grounds Maintenance is seeking a Bid Writer for its Brackley office. The role involves producing high-quality tender content for various grounds maintenance contracts and coordinating with franchisees and internal teams to meet tight submission deadlines.

Reporting to the Bid Manager, you will craft compelling written responses, maintain tender content templates, and contribute to continuous improvement of bids while staying aligned with health and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance or facilities management would be beneficial.
• Previous experience in bid writing or bid team role.
• High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite).
• Evidence of producing high scoring written content for competitive tenders.
• High attention to detail with editing and proofreading ability.
• Excellent communicator, written and verbal, with proven bid team involvement.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to deliver content under tight deadlines.
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Produce high scoring proposal content that meets specific client requirements.
• Author tender responses in line with evaluation criteria or market best practice where not provided.
• Review existing written material, edit, and improve overall quality of bids.
• Actively seek high quality content from internal and external stakeholders to improve proposal quality.
• Support the franchise network with first appointments, site visits and internal meetings to develop opportunity knowledge.
• Create case studies and testimonials showcasing Countrywide's successes to win contracts.
• Deliver completed written proposals to the Bid Manager by deadlines.
• Mentor other members of the team.
• Seek feedback on tenders to inform future bids and improve quality.
• Create and maintain content and templates for tender library.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and develop content accordingly.
• Any other reasonable duties within capabilities.
• Health and Safety knowledge.
