Job summary

Ferrovial Construction (UK) Limited is seeking a Temporary Works Design Manager for the HS2 Track infrastructure project. The role requires leading the design of temporary railheads and all related temporary works for a designated Lot, coordinating with civil, signalling, and other rail systems teams in a busy design phase from Birmingham.

You will manage interfaces with designers and suppliers, oversee TW competence and training, and ensure compliance with HS2 standards and safety regulations

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in design and/or engineering management for large infrastructure projects.
• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer preferred.
• Railway environment experience preferred.
• Proven experience managing large-scale temporary works.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for temporary works per correct process, standards and design.
• First point of contact between designer and site team for TW matters.
• Ensure on-site TW management staff are properly trained.
• Manage subcontractors' TW procedures and performance.
• Maintain training records and TWC/TWS documentation.
• Coordinate TW design with site teams, TW designers, permanent works and stakeholders.
• Ensure design competency checks align with CDM regulations.
• Develop and maintain delivery programmes for TW design.
• Coordinate with civil, signalling and other railway contractors.
• Oversee procurement and logistics for TW designs.
• Implement CDM inductions and security protocols.
• Ensure QA by integrating supplier manuals into project docs.
