Job summary

Fawkes & Reece in Cardiff Bay is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to oversee the technical delivery of façade, building envelope and fire safety projects. You will work closely with design teams, site teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients to ensure delivery to programme and budget.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in façades, cladding, building envelope or fire safety remediation, with excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Technical Manager or similar in façade/building envelope projects.
• Strong knowledge of rainscreen cladding, EWI and render.
• Proven ability to coordinate with design teams, subcontractors and clients.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and record-keeping skills.
• Good understanding of quality and construction standards.

Fawkes & Reece are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Manager to join a UK-leading specialist building envelope and fire safety remediation contractor, based in Cardiff.

Our client delivers high-quality solutions across new-build residential and commercial developments, as well as complex fire safety and façade remediation projects. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join their team.

About the Company:

Our client provides a comprehensive range of specialist services, including façade engineering and design, fire safety remediation, rainscreen cladding, external wall insulation, render, compartmentation, fire doors, procurement and installation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technical Manager to join a growing specialist contractor and work on a range of high-profile new-build and remediation projects across the UK.

The Role:

As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical delivery of façade, building envelope and fire safety projects, working closely with design teams, site teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients.

The successful candidate will ideally have a strong technical background within façades, cladding, building envelope, external wall systems or fire safety remediation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate technical aspects of building envelope and remediation projects.
• Review and manage technical drawings, specifications, design information and construction details.
• Liaise with architects, consultants, engineers, subcontractors and project teams.
• Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from design through to construction.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with relevant specifications, regulations and project requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and provide practical solutions.
• Review design changes, technical submissions and material specifications.
• Support procurement and installation teams with technical guidance.
• Attend design and project meetings where required.
• Ensure technical documentation and records are maintained accurately.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Technical Manager, Technical Construction Manager, Technical Coordinator or similar.
• Strong experience within façades, cladding, building envelope or fire safety remediation.
• Knowledge of rainscreen cladding, EWI, render, façade systems and/or compartmentation would be highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating with design consultants, subcontractors and construction teams.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• A strong understanding of quality, compliance and construction standards.
• The ability to manage multiple technical requirements across live projects.
