Job summary

VennGroup is seeking a School Caretaker in Scunthorpe to support the smooth operation of a large school site. You will join a caretaking team, carrying out practical duties across the campus and helping with basic maintenance and repairs.

The role is temporary with start ASAP, paying £14-£16 per hour. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential, and you will engage with staff, contractors and visitors to keep the site safe and well presented.

Qualifications

• DBS Update Service is essential.
• Previous caretaker or site manager experience required.
• Experience delivering practical site services to customers.
• Able to work in a team on planned and reactive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support the smooth running of a large school site as part of a caretaking team.
• Carry out a wide range of practical and physical duties across the campus.
• Assist with reactive repairs and general site maintenance tasks.
• Respond to ad-hoc requests from different departments.
• Support site logistics, including parking and event setup.
• Liaise professionally with staff, contractors and visitors.
• Respond calmly to emergencies or difficult situations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, well-presented environment at all times.
