Job summary

Manpower Group (UK) is seeking a reliable School Caretaker to join our client in LE5. You will perform routine maintenance, oversee cleaning of classrooms and facilities, and conduct regular safety inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.

Responsibilities also include maintaining outdoor areas and supporting a safe, welcoming environment for staff and students. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in caretaking or maintenance, preferably in a school.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with staff and students.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

• Oversee the cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Conduct regular inspections of the school premises to identify any safety hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Maintain outdoor areas including gardens, playgrounds, and sports fields to ensure they are safe

About you:

• Previous experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, preferably within a school or educational setting.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong attention to detail.
• A commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to undertake a DBS check.

Hours and Pay:

£13.01 per hour
40 hours a week
Standard working hours - 8 hours starting 08.30 - 16.30 per day Monday to Friday then will need to be flexible once trained to work between the hours of 6am-10pm - flexibility is required
