Job summary

Sellick Partnership is recruiting an Internal Auditor to join a leading NHS organisation in Liverpool on a temporary basis. The role is full-time (37.5 hours) with hybrid working and immediate start available.

You will deliver audits, assess risks, prepare working papers and draft reports for senior stakeholders, contributing to robust governance and control frameworks. The ideal candidate will have public sector audit experience, strong analytical skills and a track record in implementing

Qualifications

• Experience in internal audit within public sector or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of audit methodologies, governance and risk frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
• Strong report writing and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple audits and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver audits in line with the annual plan.
• Conduct risk-based reviews of financial, operational and governance controls.
• Prepare working papers, findings and recommendations.
• Draft audit reports for senior stakeholders.
• Support development and implementation of internal control frameworks.
• Review compliance, policies and regulatory requirements.
• Follow-up reviews to monitor action implementations.
• Engage with budget holders and senior leaders across the organisation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in the audit function.
