Sellick Partnership is recruiting an Internal Auditor to join a leading NHS organisation in Liverpool on a temporary basis. The role is full-time (37.5 hours) with hybrid working and immediate start available.

You will deliver audits, assess risks, prepare working papers and draft reports for senior stakeholders, contributing to robust governance and control frameworks. The ideal candidate will have public sector audit experience, strong analytical skills and a track record in implementing

Internal Auditor

Location: Liverpool
Contract: Temporary
Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Pay Rate: £140 - £160 per day

Sellick Partnership are currently supporting a leading NHS organisation based in Liverpool with the recruitment of an experienced Internal Auditor on a temporary basis to provide cover during a period of long-term sickness absence.

This is an excellent opportunity for an audit professional with previous public sector experience to join a well-established team and play a key role in delivering a robust internal audit programme across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver assigned audits in accordance with the annual audit plan.


• Conduct risk-based reviews of financial, operational and governance controls.


• Prepare audit working papers, findings and recommendations.


• Draft clear and concise audit reports for senior stakeholders.


• Support the development and implementation of internal control frameworks.


• Review compliance, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.


• Undertake follow-up reviews to monitor the implementation of agreed actions.


• Build effective relationships with budget holders, managers and senior leaders across the organisation.


• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the audit function.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will possess:

• Previous internal audit experience within public sector or a similarly regulated environment.


• Knowledge of audit methodologies, corporate governance and risk management frameworks.


• Excellent analytical and investigative skills.


• Strong report-writing and communication abilities.


• The ability to manage multiple audits and meet deadlines effectively.


• Ideally working towards a professional audit qualification (IIA, CCAB, CIPFA or part-qualified candidates will be considered) not essential


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
