Job summary

The Original British Motorcycling Company in Hinckley is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Temporary Industrial Placement - HMI Design Engineer to join our Electrical / Electronic systems team. This placement year is open to undergraduates for 2027/28, offering hands-on experience across design, testing, and project collaboration.

Ideal candidates are undergraduates studying Product Design, UI Design, or related visual/digital design disciplines, with familiarity in Figma and Adobe Creative

Qualifications

• Undergraduates currently studying Product Design, UI Design, Graphic Design, or related visual/digital design disciplines.
• Familiarity with Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.).
• Strong visual design skills and understanding of layout, typography, and colour.
• Modules or coursework involving UX, interaction design, motion design or human factors would be an advantage.
• Experience with Jira or similar project-tracking tools. Exposure to prototyping, animation, or 3D tools would be an advantage.

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Temporary Industrial Placement- HMI Design Engineer to join our Electrical / Electronic systems team in Hinckley. This is a unique opportunity for a design related student to develop and test a broad range of skills in a thriving environment.

Please note: This position is for Undergraduates looking for a Placement Year within their course for the academic year 2027/28 only.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Qualifications:

• Undergraduates currently studying Product Design, UI Design, Graphic Design, or related visual/digital design disciplines.
