Job summary

Triumph Motorcycles in Hinckley is offering an industrial placement in Procurement & Supply Chain for a current degree student. You will engage in supplier onboarding, contract reviews, and market analysis, supporting stock and cash flow management.

• Pursuing a relevant degree and aiming for a 2027/28 placement.
• On track for a 2:2 or First Class Honours degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal skills.
• Dynamic, adaptable and thrives under pressure in an agile setting.
• Self-motivated with strong time management and organisational skills.
• Active interest in procurement and supply chain management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Onboard and develop suppliers, help define commodity strategies, and negotiate contracts.
• Support tender and nomination processes aligning supplier proposals with aims.
• Conduct market research to keep the supply chain competitive.
• Participate in new model development discussions with suppliers.
• Analyse stock and optimise inventory and cash flow.
• Track business cases against targets and identify savings opportunities.
• Assist with board-level reporting and stakeholder communication.

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to embark on an exciting industrial placement within our Procurement & Supply Chain team.

This role is perfect for someone keen to build a career in procurement and supply chain management. You will be directly involved in various critical functions, including:

• Supplier Relationship Management & Negotiation: You will be responsible for onboarding and developing suppliers, helping to define commodity strategies and negotiating contracts in line with new model requirements.
• Contract Review: Support the tender and nomination processes while aligning supplier proposals with our strategic and operational aims.
• Competitor Benchmarking: Conduct market research and analysis to ensure our supply chain remains competitive and effective.
• Component Development: Participate in new model development discussions with suppliers and collaborate with project stakeholders.
• Stock Analysis: Optimise inventory and cash flow management to support business needs.Business Data & Budget Analysis: Track business cases against targets, addressing negative variances and identifying savings opportunities.
• Management Reports: Assist with board-level reporting and manage internal expectations across project stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate Should

• Be studying for a relevant design-related degree, relevant business, science, or engineering degree, and looking for a student placement in 2027/28.
• Applicants should be on track to achieve a 2:2 or First Class Honours Degree.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively across functions.
• Be dynamic, adaptable, and thrive under pressure in an agile business setting.
• Be a self-motivated individual, displaying methodical time management and organisational skills.
• Have an active interest in procurement and supply chain management is a must.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Packages, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
