Job summary

Karter Thomas Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a client in Leeds for a Temporary Housing Officer to join the housing team. You will manage a portfolio of properties and provide high-quality housing management to residents, resolving issues and maintaining strong tenant relationships.

The role involves tenancy visits, addressing breaches and rent arrears, working with internal teams and external agencies, and ensuring records comply with policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in housing/tenancy management environment.
• Good understanding of tenancy management and housing legislation.
• Experience dealing with anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise a busy caseload.
• Customer-focused approach with ability to build relationships with residents.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of residential tenancies and day-to-day housing management matters.
• Build positive relationships with residents and provide advice and support.
• Manage tenancy-related issues, including breaches of tenancy and anti-social behaviour.
• Carry out tenancy visits, inspections and investigations.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to resolve complex cases.
• Take appropriate action to address rent arrears and other tenancy-related issues.
• Ensure accurate and timely records are maintained in line with organisational policies.
• Support residents to sustain their tenancies and access appropriate services.
