Job summary

Worcester City Council’s Housing & Homelessness Service is seeking an Accommodation Officer to manage the temporary accommodation portfolio and support residents to sustain housing.

You will carry out sign-ups, inspections, tenancy management and work with partner agencies to secure positive housing outcomes. A UK driving licence and DBS check are required; an empathetic, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals or families through housing, homelessness, tenancy sustainment or a similar environment.
• Understanding homelessness legislation and safeguarding practices.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Council's temporary accommodation portfolio, including sign-ups and inspections.
• Carry out tenancy management and provide resident support in collaboration with partner agencies.
• Travel around the city for lone working and work from city centre offices.
