Job summary

Brightwork Ltd are recruiting for Catering Assistants & Cleaners to work across Glasgow and the surrounding area in Schools, Nurseries and Care Homes. Shifts are available across weekends, weekdays and ad-hoc basis, starting on a temporary basis with possible permanency for the right workers.

Due to the regulated environments, a current PVG membership or willingness to apply is required, with PVG costs payable by the candidate.

Qualifications

• PVG membership or willingness to apply for membership.
• Experience in catering or cleaning is beneficial but not required.
• Excellent communication and people skills with children, vulnerable adults, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of hot and cold foods following temperature guidelines.
• Serving food in line with hygiene procedures.
• Cleaning of kitchen, equipment and work areas.
• Assisting with stock control, ordering and rotation.
• Cleaning general areas including hoovering, dusting and mopping.
• Emptying bins and recycling appropriately.
• Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms as required.
• Working to health and safety standards when using equipment and cleaning materials.
• Performing general duties as required.

Brightwork are recruiting for Catering Assistants & Cleaners to work across Glasgow and the surrounding area in Schools, Nurseries and Care Homes.

We have a number of shifts available across weekends, weekdays and on an ad-hoc basis.

Joining initially on a temporary basis, there may be chance of permanency for the right workers.

Please note, that due to the regulated nature of these working environments, the successful candidates will be required to have a current PVG membership or be willing to apply for membership. Any PVG applications or updates would be payable by the successful candidate.

Your Time at Work

Working within busy environments, these may include schools, nurseries, day centres and care homes.

Duties will include:

• Preparation of hot and cold foods - following temperature guidelines
• Serving food in line with hygiene procedures
• Cleaning of kitchen, equipment and work areas
• Assisting with the ordering of supplies, stock control and rotation
• Cleaning of general areas including hoovering, dusting and mopping of floors
• Empying bins and recycling appropriately
• Cleaning areas such as kitchens and bathrooms
• Working to set H&S standards when using equipment and cleaning materials
• General duties as required

Our Perfect Worker

Experience within a catering or cleaning role is beneficial but not necessary.

The successful candidates will:

• Have excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
• Have a friendly manner and be confident interacting with children, vulnerable adults and internal stakeholders
• Have a basic understanding of food and personal hygiene standards
