Job summary

Pertemps Plymouth is recruiting for a Temporary Assistant HR Business Partner to join a busy People Team on an initial 2-month contract, starting mid-October. The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based on-site in Devon, with a competitive hourly rate.

You will partner with managers, handle employee relations matters, support recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and benefits, and contribute to People Plans and HR projects.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and employee relations processes.
• Experience managing complex HR casework from start to finish.
• Exposure to recruitment and wider HR administration processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Confidence using HR systems and interpreting people data.

Responsibilities

• Providing first-class HR support and guidance to managers and employees across assigned business areas.
• Managing a range of employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance matters.
• Supporting recruitment activity, onboarding processes, payroll administration, and employee benefits.
• Assisting in the delivery of People Plans and wider HR projects.
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
• Analysing HR data, monitoring trends, and producing reports to support informed decision-making.
• Supporting organisational change, workforce planning, and capability development initiatives.
• Contributing to continuous improvement projects and helping drive innovative HR service delivery.
