Job summary

East West Railway Company is seeking an Engineering Specialist in Telecommunications to provide expert guidance on design and delivery across the project lifecycle. You will translate requirements into robust technical designs, ensure standards compliance and deliver assurance across civil, electrical and signalling interfaces.

Based in Milton Keynes, this permanent role offers opportunities to shape the railway between Oxford and Cambridge, contribute to safety and performance, mentor

Qualifications

  • It is required to have a background in telecoms engineering on infrastructure projects.
  • Expertise in one or more engineering disciplines with strong technical principles.
  • Ability to solve problems and develop innovative technical solutions.
  • Desirable: experience in railway sector.
  • Desirable: authority to work in a relevant specialist discipline.
  • Desirable: Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • As a subject matter expert, provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee planning, execution and monitoring of engineering work to meet standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless integration across disciplines.
  • Resolve complex technical issues with creative, effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and good practice.
  • Share knowledge and mentor other engineers to foster learning.
  • Take responsibility for health and safety per EWR Co principles.
  • Maintain cost-conscious decision making to protect public funds.
  • Model EWR Co's vision and Ways of Working.
