Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is seeking a Principal Telecoms Engineer – Rail to provide senior technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of rail telecoms and multidisciplinary projects in the UK. You will shape engineering solutions with interfaces to signalling, civils, E&P, OLE and data networks, ensuring safety, buildability and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in railway telecoms design and delivery.
• Experience delivering telecoms designs through GRIP/PACE lifecycle stages.
• Experience in operational telecoms and SISS design.
• CRE responsibilities on rail infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of Network Rail standards and engineering assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Act as Telecoms CRE (Design) and provide technical leadership across rail projects.
• Lead telecoms engineering design through all project stages.
• Ensure governance and compliance with industry standards.
• Lead interfaces with signalling, civils, E&P, OLE and permanent way.
• Support bids, tenders and framework opportunities with engineering input.
• Manage resources, programmes and deliverables.
• Mentor engineers and designers; provide professional development.
• Conduct design reviews and maintain quality throughout delivery.
• Oversee commercial/financial aspects including forecasting and value engineering.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders; contribute to capability growth.
