Job summary

Network Rail in Milton Keynes is seeking a Senior Telecoms Engineer to lead the development and delivery of the Central Telecom plan, renewing and enhancing the national telecoms platform. You will drive project requirements and acceptance criteria for telecom engineering works to meet national capabilities.

You will deliver engineering support, governance, and assurance across the programme, maintaining asset condition data and ensuring safe, reliable telecom services for the railway network.

Qualifications

• Incorporated Engineer with telecom experience.
• Degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent.
• Member of a professional institution.
• UK driving licence or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Central Telecom business plan development and delivery.
• Oversee renewal, refurbishment and enhancement work bank.
• Specify and accept renewal requirements for telecom works.
• Support projects post-handover ensuring scope and deliverables.
• Provide telecom systems engineering input for maintenance regimes.
• Maintain accurate asset records and change history.
• Lead asset condition inspections informing databases.
• Review derogation and non-compliance applications.
• Participate in assurance processes and audits.
• Monitor telecom asset reliability and drive improvements.

Professional licences / qualifications
