At Careium, we help people live safely, independently and with greater confidence in their own homes. By combining smart technology with compassionate support, we provide peace of mind to thousands of people across the UK.

We're looking for a reliable, customer-focused Telecare Field Technician to join our team in the Cumbria area. This is a rewarding role where you'll use your technical skills and people skills to support vulnerable adults and help make a real difference in their daily lives.

If you enjoy working independently, solving problems and helping others, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Telecare Field Technician, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and replacing telecare equipment in customers' homes and supported living environments.

This is a field-based role involving regular travel throughout the local area and lone working. You'll work Monday to Friday, with additional on-call duties during evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rotating basis.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Installing, servicing, repairing and replacing telecare equipment.
  • Travelling to customer locations across Cumbria and surrounding areas.
  • Providing clear, friendly guidance on how equipment works.
  • Supporting customers professionally and compassionately, particularly in vulnerable situations.
  • Diagnosing basic technical faults and resolving issues where possible.
  • Ensuring accurate completion of service records and documentation using company systems.
  • Following safeguarding, health and safety, data protection and lone-working procedures.
  • Participating in the on-call rota to support customers outside normal working hours.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, practical and committed to delivering excellent customer service.

You'll ideally have:

  • A caring, patient and professional approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence working independently in a field-based role.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic IT skills and experience using mobile devices or computer systems.
  • Flexibility to participate in an evening and weekend on-call rota.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • The ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check.

A company vehicle, tools and equipment will be provided.

While not essential, applications are welcomed from individuals with experience in:

  • Telecare, healthcare technology or assistive technology.
  • Field service, installation or maintenance roles.
  • Emergency response or community-based support services.
  • Working with older or vulnerable adults.
  • Safeguarding and lone-working environments.

Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

What We Offer
  • Company vehicle.
  • On-call payments and enhanced rates where applicable.
  • Comprehensive training and ongoing development.
  • Employee assistance and wellbeing support.
  • Opportunities for career progression.
  • The chance to work for an organisation that genuinely changes lives.
Why Join Careium?

Careium is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and will provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and employment in line with the Equality Act 2010.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check due to working with vulnerable adults.
