Job summary

Fusion People is seeking an experienced Tekla Draughtsman to join our Derby drawing office on a permanent basis. You will model in Tekla Structures and produce detailed fabrication drawings to support fabrication and site installation on a varied portfolio of structural steelwork projects.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years’ Tekla Structures experience, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to coordinate with design, workshop and site teams to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience using Tekla Structures in structural steel detailing.
• Proven ability to produce detailed fabrication drawings and GA drawings.
• Strong understanding of fabrication and installation processes in steelwork.

Responsibilities

• Produce take-offs and build estimating models from project information.
• Create and develop structural steelwork models using Tekla Structures to engineering and architectural drawings.
• Generate accurate General Arrangement drawings.
• Prepare detailed fabrication drawings in line with company standards.
• Raise and support Technical Queries (TQs) as required.
• Ensure models and drawings are accurate, coordinated and delivered on schedule.
• Liaise with engineering, workshop and installation teams for smooth delivery.

Job Title: Tekla Draughtsman
Location: Derby
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £35,000+ per annum (DOE)

We are seeking an experienced Tekla Draughtsman to join our established Drawing Office. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled structural steelwork professional to become part of a busy and growing team, working on a diverse range of projects from initial modelling through to fabrication and site installation.

You will be responsible for producing accurate 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings to support the successful delivery of structural steelwork projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce take-offs and build estimating models from project information.
• Create and develop structural steelwork models using Tekla Structures in accordance with engineering and architectural drawings, reference models and connection calculations.
• Generate accurate General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
• Prepare detailed fabrication drawings in line with company standards and project requirements.
• Raise and support Technical Queries (TQs) where required.
• Ensure all models and drawings are accurate, coordinated and delivered in line with project programmes and deadlines.
• Liaise effectively with the engineering, workshop and installation teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience using Tekla Structures within the structural steelwork industry.
• Proven experience producing structural steel detailing and fabrication drawings.
• A strong understanding of structural steelwork fabrication and installation processes.
• The ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Experience interpreting connection calculations and accurately incorporating them into models and drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
