Job summary

Rivan Industries is a synthetic fuel company expanding into London with a new 60,000 sq ft facility. You will join the Quality team to roll out the Quality Management System and ensure rigorous quality checks as we scale manufacturing.

As a Quality Engineer, you’ll define procedures, review existing testing, inspect systems, raise NCRs, and assist Test Technicians. In-person HQ in Bermondsey, with relocation support and private health insurance offered.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in a workshop, factory, or laboratory.
• Proven track record running quality management processes on production lines.
• Experience taking products from design to mature production.

Responsibilities

• Assist in rolling out a Quality Management System during manufacturing setup.
• Define, select, and deploy quality procedures and testing.
• Review and optimise existing quality/testing procedures.
• Inspect manufactured systems and raise NCRs when necessary.
• Instruct and assist Test Technicians with day-to-day operations.

Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground.

We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants consisting of a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor, vertically integrating with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid. We've recently deployed the UK's largest synthetic fuel plant and are planning to 1000x this scale in the next 2 years.

We're looking for a Quality Engineer as we expand into our new 60,000 sq ft manufacturing and R&D facility in London and simultaneously deploy our hardware at project sites. This is someone who has an eye for detail, and a pragmatic approach to ensuring the correct quality checks are being completed. You will work with a Quality Team Lead who will oversee the Quality department.

The role:

Assist Quality Team Lead in Rolling Out Quality Management System

• This includes working together on specifying, selecting, and deploying the system as we move into manufacturing.

Defining and Establishing Suitable Quality Procedures and Testing for Manufacture

• As part of our launch into manufacturing, our Quality Engineer must be able to define a suitable QMS, select one, and deploy it into the organisation.

Reviewing and Optimising Existing Quality/Testing Procedures

• At Rivan, we are always looking at how we can do things better.
• Regular reviews/assessments into inefficiencies of existing quality checks is necessary, including assessing where quality checks are missing.

Inspecting Manufactured Systems and Raising NCR's When Necessary

• Where components/assemblies/systems are found not to be up to standard, NCR's and possible re-work are necessary.
• Establishment, and execution of these procedures in detail will be driven by the Quality Team Lead.

Instruct and Assist Test Technicians with Day to Day Operations

• Test technicians will be carrying out quality checks defined by the Quality Engineers
• Input and guidance from Quality Engineers when necessary will be required.

Core skills:

• 3-5 years years professional experience in relevant environment (workshop, factory, or laboratory)
• Demonstrated experience running effective quality management processes on production lines
• Experience taking products through their full lifecycle from design to mature production process

Preferable skills:

• Team Player - Willing to step in and solve more complex problems when Test Technicians have difficulties
• Familiar with full production quality processes
• Drive to continually improve quality processes and checks.

• £40 - 60k salary depending on experience
