Job summary

Hendy Group in Tonbridge, Kent, is recruiting a Vehicle Technician to join a high performing team at our Vauxhall site. You will conduct full vehicle examinations, diagnose faults, and carry out timely repairs to manufacturer standards, while delivering a courteous service to customers.

We offer a market-leading salary up to £48k OTE, MOT bonus and a sign-on bonus, plus a comprehensive induction and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Vehicle Technician ideally from a main dealer/franchise environment.
• Formal qualification (NVQ Level 3 / IMI / City & Guilds).
• Ability to work within defined processes and guidelines and promote best practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct full examinations of vehicles (including health checks).
• Identify non-routine defects and faults in workshop or on road tests.
• Undertake timely repair and servicing of customer vehicles to technical standards.
• Provide courteous, responsive service to colleagues and customers.
• Brief front-of-house team on work progress and results.

The Opportunity:

In your role as a Vehicle Technician, you will be authorised and responsible for the following:

• Conducting full examinations of vehicles (including electronic vehicle health checks);
• Identifynon-routine defects and faults either in the workshop or during vehicle road tests;
• Undertaketimelyrepair and servicing of customer vehiclesin accordance withtechnical standards;
• Provide a knowledgeable, courteous, responsive, and efficient service to all colleagues and workshop customers;
• Work closely with the front of house service team, ensuring they are kept informed of the progress on customer vehicles and are fully briefed on work completed;
• Discuss technical issues/works directly with customers when requested;
• Offer technical advice and support to workshop apprentices;
• Work with the wider workshop teamto design and implement new methods of work to improve efficiency.

Hendy Induction -please be advised that any new starters joining the business in their first week will be expected to attend a structured induction programme that will involve 2 days at our training academy in Portsmouth. More details will be shared at interview.

About You:

• You will need to be an experience Vehicle Technician (ideally from a main dealer/franchise environment);
• Have relevant formal qualification (NVQ Level 3 / IMI / City & Guilds);
• Ability to work within defined processes and guidelines, and to promote best practice throughout the workshop;
• Be customer focused,possessgood communicationskills with the ability to explain technical information to a non-technical audience;
• Have a first-time fix mentality
• Committed to the development of your technical knowledge and skills;
• Be a team player, whether mentoring or supporting other Technicians;
• An MOT licensewould be highlyadvantageous, but not essential;
• A confident driver with a full UK driving license.
• Have a passion for the industry and a desire to succeed.
