Job summary

Hendy Group is recruiting a Vehicle Technician at our Exeter Car Store. You will perform vehicle inspections, identify faults, and carry out timely repairs to manufacturer standards while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 / IMI / City & Guilds qualification, a UK driving license, and a proactive, team-focused attitude. Ongoing training and progression are provided.

Responsibilities

At our Exeter Car Store site we are looking to recruit a Vehicle Technician to join this high performing team.

The Opportunity:

In your role as a Vehicle Technician, you will be authorised and responsible for the following:

• Conducting full examinations of vehicles (including electronic vehicle health checks);
• Identifynon-routine defects and faults either in the workshop or during vehicle road tests;
• Undertaketimelyrepair and servicing of customer vehiclesin accordance withtechnical standards;
• Provide a knowledgeable, courteous, responsive, and efficient service to all colleagues and workshop customers;
• Work closely with the front of house service team, ensuring they are kept informed of the progress on customer vehicles and are fully briefed on work completed;
• Discuss technical issues/works directly with customers when requested;
• Offer technical advice and support to workshop apprentices;
• Work with the wider workshop teamto design and implement new methods of work to improve efficiency.

Hendy Induction -please be advised that anynew starters joining the business in their first week will be expected to attend a structured induction programme that will involve 2 days at our training academy in Portsmouth. More details will be shared at interview.

About You:

• You will need to be an experience Vehicle Technician (ideally from a main dealer/franchise environment);
• Have relevant formal qualification (NVQ Level 3 / IMI / City & Guilds);
• Ability to work within defined processes and guidelines, and to promote best practice throughout the workshop;
• Be customer focused,possessgood communicationskills with the ability to explain technical information to a non-technical audience;
• Have a first-time fix mentality
• Committed to the development of your technical knowledge and skills;
• Be a team player, whether mentoring or supporting other Technicians;
• An MOT licensewould be highlyadvantageous, but not essential;
• A confident driver with a full UK driving license.
• Have a passion for the industry and a desire to succeed.
