Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Maidstone is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join a busy workshop. You will service and repair customer vehicles to manufacturer standards and gain access to leading brand training and hybrid/electric qualification pathways.

The role offers a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with 1 in 3 Saturdays. A competitive salary (£32,500–£37,000) plus OTE up to £43,000 reflects experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair is required.
  • Experience as Vehicle Technician or automotive service technician is preferred.
  • Valid UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out vehicle health checks using diagnostic tools.
  • Perform servicing and routine maintenance to manufacturer standards.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
  • Complete authorised repairs efficiently and document work clearly.
  • Test drive and road-test vehicles after repairs to confirm fixes.
  • Maintain thorough workshop documentation and job cards.
  • Collaborate with Service Department to ensure excellent customer service.

VEHICLE TECHNICIAN

Location: Maidstone

Basic Salary: £32,500 - £37,000 (Depending on Qualifications & Experience)

OTE: Up to £43,000

Hours: 40 Hours per Week | Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm | 1 in 3 Saturdays 8:30am - 12:30pm

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing customer vehicles to manufacturer standards whilst delivering first-class customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest diagnostic technology
  • Completing servicing and routine maintenance
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
  • Carrying out authorised repairs efficiently and accurately
  • Completing warranty repairs in line with manufacturer guidelinesRoad testing vehicles to ensure repairs have been successfully completed
  • Completing all job cards and workshop documentation accurately
  • Working closely with the Service Department to deliver an exceptional customer experience
About You
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Technician or Service Technician
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Passion for delivering high-quality workmanship
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience within a dealership environment beneficial but not essential
