Serco is hiring a Mechanical Technician for the Great Western Hospital in Swindon. You will maintain critical mechanical building services across a busy acute hospital, contributing to patient safety and reliability of healthcare operations.
You will complete planned and reactive maintenance, work a rotating two-week shift, participate in weekend and out-of-hours rosters, and use CAFM to document activities and compliance.

Working Pattern: Required to work a rotating two-week shift pattern, Monday to Friday, comprising one week of early shifts (07:00 to 15:30) followed by one week of late shifts (10:30 to 19:00). The role also requires mandatory participation in the departmental weekend rota and out-of-hours call-out rota to support operational and emergency service requirements.

A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
