Job summary

Rullion is recruiting a Vehicle Technician in Northampton to assemble train interiors and exteriors from engineering drawings and install mechanical parts. You will fit seating, flooring, doors, windows, panels, and cab equipment, and carry out refurbishment and upgrade projects.

Working Monday to Friday, 06:00-16:00 (50 hours per week) on an Inside IR35 contract. Safety and quality standards are essential, with a focus on attention to detail in rail/manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical fitting and coachbuilding.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of rail, automotive, aerospace, or heavy manufacturing environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assemble train interiors and exteriors from engineering drawings.
• Fit seating, flooring, doors, windows, panels, and cab equipment.

• Assembling train interiors and exteriors from engineering drawings.
• Fitting components such as seating, flooring, doors, windows, panels, and cab equipment.
• Installing mechanical parts.
• Carrying out vehicle refurbishment and upgrade projects.
• Using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely.
• Identifying and rectifying defects.
• Working to strict health, safety, and engineering procedures.

Key skills and experience:

• Mechanical fitting, coachbuilding, vehicle building, or manufacturing experience.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Knowledge of rail, automotive, aerospace, or heavy manufacturing environments is often advantageous.
