Job summary

Rullion Managed Services is seeking a Vehicle Technician in Northampton to assemble, fit and install components on rail vehicle interiors and exteriors. You will work from engineering drawings, use hand and power tools, and perform refurbishment and upgrade tasks to high standards.

The role requires mechanical fitting experience and attention to detail, with knowledge of rail or heavy manufacturing environments considered advantageous. Monday–Friday, 06:00–16:00, 50 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Mechanical fitting, coachbuilding, vehicle building or manufacturing experience.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Knowledge of rail, automotive, aerospace, or heavy manufacturing environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assemble train interiors and exteriors from engineering drawings.
• Fit seating, flooring, doors, windows, panels and cab equipment.
• Install mechanical parts and carry out refurbishment/upgrade projects.
• Use hand and power tools safely to complete tasks.
• Identify and rectify defects.
• Follow strict health, safety, and engineering procedures.

Vehicle Technician - Northampton

£24.80 Umbrella (after 12 weeks)

Contract Inside IR35

Monday-Friday | 06:00-16:00 | 50 Hours Per Week

Duties include:

• Assembling train interiors and exteriors from engineering drawings.
• Fitting components such as seating, flooring, doors, windows, panels, and cab equipment.
• Installing mechanical parts.
• Carrying out vehicle refurbishment and upgrade projects.
• Using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely.
• Identifying and rectifying defects.
• Working to strict health, safety, and engineering procedures.

Key skills and experience:

• Mechanical fitting, coachbuilding, vehicle building, or manufacturing experience.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Knowledge of rail, automotive, aerospace, or heavy manufacturing environments is often advantageous.
