Job summary

Rullion are recruiting experienced Electrical Fitters/Technicians to join a major rolling stock project based in Northampton. The role involves electrical installation, testing and fault-finding on upgrades of rolling stock assets within a well-equipped depot.

Offers are £22.13 PAYE or £29.74 Umbrella per hour (after 12 weeks), with a Monday-Friday, 06:00-16:00 schedule, 50 hours per week. Inside IR35 contract.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Engineering.
• Experience as an Electrical Fitter/Technician or similar.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical publications.
• Commitment to Health & Safety practices (COSHH, manual handling).

Responsibilities

• Electrical installation of lighting, CCTV, USB and LED systems.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, drawings and modification instructions.
• Wiring, testing and routing electrical components.
• Electrical fault-finding, diagnostics and rectification.
• Supporting upgrades and commissioning activities on rolling stock assets.
• Completing work per engineering instructions, methods and tooling specifications.
• Accurately completing maintenance records.
• Undertaking additional duties to support production programmes.

We are recruiting experienced Electrical Fitters/Technicians to join a major rolling stock project based in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong electrical or engineering background to work on upgrades of rolling stock assets within a well-equipped depot environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical installation of lighting, CCTV, USB and LED systems
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, engineering drawings and modification instructions
• Wiring, testing and routing electrical components
• Electrical fault-finding, diagnostics and rectification
• Supporting the completion of upgrades and commissioning activities on rolling stock assets
• Completing all work in accordance with engineering instructions, methods and tooling specifications
• Accurately completing maintenance records
• Undertaking additional duties as required to support production programmes

Skills & Experience Required

• Experience as an Electrical Fitter, Exam Technician, Maintenance Technician or similar engineering role
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Electrical or Engineering discipline
• Experience within an engineering, manufacturing, maintenance or production environment
• Strong electrical installation, testing and fault-finding experience
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical publications
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and laptops for fault finding and rectification
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures including COSHH, biohazards and manual handling
• Ability to accurately complete documentation and maintenance records
• Ability to care for and maintain tools, equipment and PPE
• Rolling stock experience desirable but not essential
• Positive attitude with willingness to learn and develop new skills
