Job summary

Insight Global Limited is seeking an experienced HGV Vehicle Technician to maintain, inspect and repair a commercial fleet. You will perform PMIs, prepare vehicles for MOT, and diagnose faults using JALtest and other diagnostic tools.

The role requires hands-on experience with engines and gearboxes, and a proven track record in servicing across various fleet environments. Externals and safety are paramount to keep vehicles roadworthy.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on vehicle maintenance, servicing and repair experience.
• Experience with preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs) and MOT preparations.
• Proficient in vehicle diagnostics using computer-based tools and software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, and repair the commercial vehicle fleet to ensure safety and reliability.
• Carry out PMIs and MOT preparations for fleet readiness.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, including engines and gearboxes.

Job description

Insight Global is looking for an experienced HGV Vehicle Technician to join one of the world's leading logistics organisations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection and repair of their commercial vehicle fleet, carrying out preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs), MOT preparation and general servicing. The role will also involve diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, including engine and gearbox repairs, as well as using vehicle diagnostic systems such as JALtest and manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools. The technician will work across all areas of vehicle maintenance to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable and ready for operation.

Qualifications:

• Level 3 City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent recognised HGV/vehicle maintenance qualification
• Completed recognised apprenticeship in HGV or commercial vehicle maintenance
• Previous experience working on HGVs/commercial vehicles within a vehicle manufacturer, fleet operator, logistics organisation or similar environment
• Strong hands-on vehicle maintenance, servicing and repair experience
• Experience with preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and MOT preparations
• Strong vehicle diagnostics knowledge and experience using computer-based diagnostic tools
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, including engines and gearboxes
