Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced HGV Vehicle Technician to join a leading logistics organisation. You will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting and repairing the commercial vehicle fleet, performing PMI inspections and MOT preparations, and diagnosing faults using JALtest and other diagnostic tools.

The role requires Level 3 City & Guilds or equivalent, plus an apprenticeship in HGV maintenance and hands-on experience with engines, gearboxes and diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Level 3 City & Guilds or equivalent HGV/vehicle maintenance qualification.
• Completed recognised apprenticeship in HGV or commercial vehicle maintenance.
• Previous experience working on HGVs/commercial vehicles within a vehicle manufacturer, fleet operator, logistics organisation or similar environment.
• Strong hands-on vehicle maintenance, servicing and repair experience.
• Experience with preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and MOT preparations.
• Strong vehicle diagnostics knowledge and experience using computer-based diagnostic tools.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, including engines and gearboxes.

Job description

Insight Global is looking for an experienced HGV Vehicle Technician to join one of the world’s leading logistics organisations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection and repair of their commercial vehicle fleet, carrying out preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs), MOT preparation and general servicing. The role will also involve diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, including engine and gearbox repairs, as well as using vehicle diagnostic systems such as JALtest and manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools. The technician will work across all areas of vehicle maintenance to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable and ready for operation.

The applicant must have the following:

• Level 3 City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent recognised HGV/vehicle maintenance qualification
• Completed recognised apprenticeship in HGV or commercial vehicle maintenance
• Previous experience working on HGVs/commercial vehicles within a vehicle manufacturer, fleet operator, logistics organisation or similar environment

It is a plus if the applicant has the below:

• HGV C+E driving licence
• IRTEC accreditation
