Job summary

Babcock International is seeking a Technical Training Instructor for the HMS Collingwood site in Fareham, Hampshire. The role involves delivering satellite communications training to internal teams and external customers, developing courses, and maintaining training equipment on site.

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering Electrical / Electronics discipline.
• Experience in Telecommunications and/or Satellite Communications and / or CIS (Communications and Information Systems)
• Experience of installation, test and repair activities
• Experience of operating cryptographic activities
• Manual Handling, this role requires regular light to moderate lifting

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver high-quality training courses for new equipment and services
• Conduct routine maintenance on training equipment
• Provide initial identification and rectification of defects
• Conduct training needs analysis to identify practical, cost-effective solutions
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to gather technical insights
• Attend meetings on behalf of the Training Manager to assess training implications
• Manage key and crypto material accounts in line with security protocols

The role

As a Technical Training Instructor, you'll have a role that is out of the ordinary. You'll deliver engaging technical training of Satellite communications sytems for both internal teams and external customers, helping to shape the next generation of defence professionals. Day-to-day, you'll develop and deliver high-quality training courses for new equipment and services. Additionally, you will:

Essential experience of the Technical Training Instructor

• Communicating effectively across teams and stakeholders
• Working proactively and flexibly within a small, focused team
• Understanding of data communications or engineering - desirable
• Experience working alongside UK military customers - desirable
• Royal Navy or RFA communication or electrical engineering background - desirable
