Job summary

Babcock International is seeking a Technical Training Instructor to deliver engaging training on Satellite communications systems for internal and external customers, strengthening national security while advancing your career. The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, on-site at HMS Collingwood in the United Kingdom.

You will work with engineering teams, perform maintenance, and manage secure crypto material; SC clearance is required; prior UK military customer experience desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Electrical/Electronics.
• Experience in Telecommunications and/or Satellite Communications and/or CIS.
• Experience of installation, test and repair activities.
• Experience of operating cryptographic activities.
• Manual Handling, this role requires regular light to moderate lifting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality technical training courses on equipment and services.
• Conduct routine maintenance on training equipment.
• Identify and rectify defects during training.
• Conduct training needs analysis to identify practical solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to gather insights.

Job description

As a Technical Training Instructor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll deliver engaging technical training of Satellite communications sytems for both internal teams and external customers, helping to shape the next generation of defence professionals. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference - enhancing national security while advancing your own career in a dynamic and rewarding environment. Day-to-day, you'll develop and deliver high-quality training courses for new equipment and services. Additionally, you will:

• Conduct routine maintenance on training equipment
• provide intial identification and rectification of defects
• Conduct training needs analysis to identify practical, cost-effective solutions
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to gather technical insights
• Attend meetings on behalf of the Training Manager to assess training implications
• Manage key and crypto material accounts in line with security protocols

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at HMS Collingwood.

• Communicating effectively across teams and stakeholders
• Working proactively and flexibly within a small, focused team
• Understanding of data communications or engineering - desirable
• Experience working alongside UK military customers - desirable
• Royal Navy or RFA communication or electrical engineering background - desirable

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
