Job summary

Babcock International seeks a Technical Training Instructor at HMS Collingwood in Fareham to deliver engaging satellite communications training for internal teams and external customers, shaping the next generation of defence professionals.

You will develop and deliver high-quality courses for new equipment, conduct routine maintenance, analyze training needs, and work with engineering teams to translate technical insights into practical training while upholding security protocols and SC

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Electrical / Electronics
• Experience in Telecommunications and/or Satellite Communications and / or CIS
• Experience of installation, test and repair activities
• Experience of operating cryptographic activities
• Regular light to moderate lifting required

The role

As a Technical Training Instructor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll deliver engaging technical training of Satellite communications sytems for both internal teams and external customers, helping to shape the next generation of defence professionals. Day-to-day, you'll develop and deliver high-quality training courses for new equipment and services. Additionally, you will:

• Conduct routine maintenance on training equipment
• provide intial identification and rectification of defects
• Conduct training needs analysis to identify practical, cost-effective solutions
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to gather technical insights
• Attend meetings on behalf of the Training Manager to assess training implications
• Manage key and crypto material accounts in line with security protocols

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at HMS Collingwood.

Essential experience of the Technical Training Instructor

• Communicating effectively across teams and stakeholders
• Working proactively and flexibly within a small, focused team
• Understanding of data communications or engineering - desirable
• Experience working alongside UK military customers - desirable
• Royal Navy or RFA communication or electrical engineering background - desirable

Qualifications for the Technical Training Instructor

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering Electrical / Electronics discipline
• Experience in Telecommunications and/or Satellite Communications and / or CIS (Communications and Information Systems)
• Experience of installation, test and repair activities
• Experience of operating cryptographic activities
• Manual Handling, this role requires regular light to moderate lifting

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
