This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a positive difference to local communities.

About the Role

As a Technical Support Officer, you will provide vital administrative and coordination support to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and residents receive an excellent service throughout their journey.

You will be responsible for coordinating appointments, liaising with residents, contractors and external partners, maintaining accurate records, processing documentation and helping to monitor the progress of projects from referral through to completion.

No two days are the same, and you will play a key role in ensuring programmes run smoothly, deadlines are met and customers remain informed throughout the process.

Coordinate appointments, surveys and contractor visits.

Manage and maintain accurate records, databases and project information.

Monitor project progress and support the tracking of key performance indicators.

Liaise with residents, contractors, Occupational Therapists and other stakeholders.

Prepare correspondence, reports and documentation.

Support the processing of grant applications, orders, invoices and other project-related information.

Assist in responding to customer enquiries and resolving issues in a professional and empathetic manner.

About You

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with excellent organisational and communication skills who enjoy working collaboratively and delivering excellent customer service.

You will have:

Strong administrative and organisational skills.

Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and database systems.

A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.

Experience of working with customers and managing enquiries in a professional manner.

Experience in housing, property services, construction, adaptations, grants administration or sustainability programmes would be beneficial but is not essential.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to be part of a service that makes a real difference to residents' lives, whether by helping people remain independent in their homes or supporting projects that create warmer, more energy-efficient homes for the future.

Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

Generous annual leave entitlement.

Training and development opportunities.

A supportive team environment with opportunities to develop your career within Property Services.

If you are organised, customer-focused and passionate about delivering excellent services that improve residents' homes and wellbeing, we would love to hear from you.

The deadline for applications will be midnight on the closing date shown in the advert details.

Information for applicants on Local Government Reorganisation

The Council is going through a major change as part of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and devolution. This means that the district and borough councils in Hertfordshire will be replaced by a smaller number of new unitary councils.

The aim is to make local government simpler and more efficient, improve services for residents, and bring decision-making closer to the communities we serve.

What this means for you

If you join Dacorum Borough Council between now and 31 March 2028, you will move to a new organisation on 1 April 2028. Your role will transfer to the new authority, but the way you work and who you report to may change.

While this may be different from what you are used to, it is also a rare and exciting opportunity to join Dacorum at a time of real change.

You will have the chance to help shape the future of local services and be part of building something new.

The new unitary councils will create opportunities for innovation, growth, and better public services. They will offer a more joined-up and forward-looking working environment for employees.

We are committed to supporting our staff and continuing to deliver high-quality services for residents throughout this change. Together, we are building a better future.
