Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment is seeking a Customer Support Engineer to join a friendly technical support team near Hythe, Southampton. The role focuses on helping customers via phone, email and chat, resolving IT issues and managing tickets to resolution.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in IT/Helpdesk, strong customer service, basic networking, and willingness to learn. Onsite with structured training, 25 days holiday, private medical insurance and pension.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Some IT/helpdesk or technical support experience.
• Good understanding of networking and TCP/IP.
• Knowledge of firewalls, VLANs, VoIP, Windows or Linux is a plus.
• Logical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Full driving licence and transport due to onsite location.

Responsibilities

• Support customers by phone, email and messaging and manage tickets to resolution.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide clear explanations to non-technical users.
• Contribute to a positive customer experience and learn on the job.
