Job summary

Balvac, part of Balfour Beatty, is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer to join the Warrington team, supporting preconstruction and early project development with robust, buildable engineering solutions. You will work with Engineering, Preconstruction and Operations to develop methodologies and technical proposals that win work and set projects up for success.

The role requires an engineering degree, working towards or holding membership (e.g.

Qualifications

Engineering degree (or equivalent) required.
Professional membership (e.g. IEng or CEng) encouraged.
Experience with civil engineering contractors/consultants.
Knowledge of structural concrete repair, strengthening, protection.
Familiarity with cathodic protection, sprayed concrete, CFRP strengthening.
Experience in waterproofing, leak sealing, post-tensioning or resin injection.
Understanding of standards, specifications and methodologies.
CSCS (SMSTS desirable) with CDM awareness.
Strong communication, numeracy and technical writing skills.
Proficient IT skills; AutoCAD and MS Project desirable.

Responsibilities

Review enquiry documents, briefs, reports and specs.
Prepare technical queries, briefing documents and delivery plans.
Develop engineering solutions and perform buildability reviews.
Produce technical documentation: proposals, reports, method statements, ITPs, drawings and programmes.
Support ECI tenders and contribute to cost/time allowances.
Manage designers and coordinate design inputs.
Ensure independent design reviews and multidisciplinary checks.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and optimise solutions.
