Job summary

Balvac, part of Balfour Beatty, is seeking a Methods & Proposals Engineer in Warrington to join a team delivering robust engineering solutions for complex structural repair projects across the UK.

You will work with Engineering, Preconstruction and Operations to develop buildable methodologies, technical proposals and comprehensive documentation to win work and set projects up for success.

Qualifications

• An engineering degree (or equivalent)
• Working towards or holding professional membership (e.g. IEng / CEng – ICE)
• Experience with contractors or consultants in the civil engineering sector
• Knowledge of specialist techniques such as concrete repair, strengthening, cathodic protection, sprayed concrete, CFRP strengthening, waterproofing, post-tensioning and grouting

Responsibilities

• Review enquiry documents, client briefs, reports and specifications
• Prepare technical queries, internal briefing documents and delivery plans
• Develop engineering solutions and undertake detailed buildability reviews
• Produce technical documentation including proposals, reports, method statements and ITPs
• Support ECI tenders and contribute to cost/time allowances
• Manage designers and coordinate design inputs
• Ensure independent design reviews and interdisciplinary checks are completed
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and optimise solutions
