About us
Wriggle Marketing is a digital marketing agency with a focus on generating real ROI – and that’s not just a tagline. We work with clients in engineering and manufacturing, across a broad range of industries, on everything from web builds and branding to long-term SEO and PPC strategies.
This role is centred on technical SEO, but will overlap other areas from time to time so is a great opportunity for SEOs who are after variety.
You’ll be supported by our Head of SEO & Content and work closely with several members of our team, including our SEO Content Strategist and developers. You’ll assess the technical foundation of our clients’ websites, identify gaps and opportunities, and deliver on relevant actions, collaborating with colleagues where necessary.
An ability to translate technical terminology into plain English for non-technical client points of contact is desired, as well as demonstrating the real-world benefit of your actions.
Key responsibilities
- Owning the technical SEO aspect of our clients’ wider SEO & content strategies, with support and guidance from our Head of SEO & Content
- Running technical audits and crawls, identifying issues around indexation, crawl budget, site architecture, page speed, structured data and other relevant areas
- Compiling clear, prioritised recommendations that our clients and developers (both internally and externally) can action
- Working with our devs to get technical fixes implemented, and checking they’ve landed properly
- Supporting website migrations and platform changes, with deliverables such as redirect mapping, to help maintain SEO value
- Building a deep understanding of your clients’ available resource and prioritising deliverables accordingly
- Liaising with our SEO Content Strategist and supporting one another in the delivery of our SEO & content strategies
- Supporting our monthly reporting function and helping us demonstrate ROI and value to clients
- Building an understanding of the role technical SEO plays in enabling AI visibility
- Taking responsibility for maintaining a close relationship with clients and communicating well with key points of contact
- Managing your accounts day to day and helping ensure overall performance is consistently improving, with regular client reporting and catch-ups (over video call or in person)
- Collaborating with our Head of Paid Search to align your SEO efforts with paid search where appropriate
- Working closely with the wider Wriggle team to ensure all client work is delivered on time, targets are met and communication and collaboration is strong within the team as a whole
- Staying up to date with the latest SEO trends and algorithm changes, including developments in SERP features and AI Search
Personal requirements
- Two years’ experience or more in an SEO role, with solid technical knowledge (crawling, indexation, site structure, structured data, Core Web Vitals, etc)
- Experience in using relevant tools such as Screaming Frog, Google Search Console and Google Analytics, and using them to guide your work
- Experience with Data Studio is a bonus, to support monthly reporting and ongoing measurement and analysis of our strategies
- Excellent organisational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand and interpret client needs effectively
- A motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude, eager to contribute to a busy and growing team
- A sense of pride in completing projects and going above and beyond to support clients and colleagues
