About the Role

We are looking for an eager and enthusiastic Technical Sales Manager to join our Sales team. This is a key leadership role, responsible not only for driving sales performance but also for managing a team and contributing significantly to our sales and marketing strategy.

The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in technical sales and a strong understanding of the marine industry. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting and expanding our international client base, which spans China, Singapore, Brazil, and both Northern and Southern Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Ownership: Take full ownership of technical responses to proposals, tenders, and client requests.
  • Proposal Development: Support the sales team in the preparation of detailed and competitive commercial proposals.
  • Client Advisory: Provide high-level technical advice to clients regarding Rotor Sail implementation, including optimal rotor placement and overcoming installation challenges, in collaboration with the Engineering team.
  • Specification Development: Produce tailored Technical Requirement Specifications for each customer or partner project.
  • Fuel Saving Assessments (FSA): Perform FSAs to quantify the benefits of Rotor Sail technology for prospective and current clients.
  • Project Handover: Conduct thorough handovers of new projects to ensure a smooth transition from sales to implementation.
  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with technical stakeholders at client and partner organizations.
  • CRM Oversight: Manage and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the company's CRM system to support sales tracking and reporting.
  • Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings, marketing initiatives, and business development activities both locally and internationally.
  • Team management: Lead and manage the technical sales team to meet and exceed targets.
  • Reporting: Report on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to senior stakeholders

Requirements

  • Education: Degree or equivalent qualification in Marine Engineering, Marine Technology, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical background with experience in B2B sales, ideally within the marine or maritime sector.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • International Experience: Proven experience working within an international business environment and able to travel internationally, as required.
  • Relationship Builder: Demonstrated client-facing experience with the ability to build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships.
  • Attitude: A proactive, positive, and "can-do" mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Results-Driven: Goal-oriented and motivated by achieving commercial success.
  • Cultural Awareness: Able to work effectively with clients and colleagues across diverse cultures and geographies.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong awareness of commercial drivers and the ability to align technical solutions with business objectives.
