Technical Sales Engineer
Location: St Ives (Office based)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
DOESF Recruitment is recruiting for a Technical Sales Engineer/Proposals Engineer for our client. They are looking to expand their sales team to help maximize the performance of their customers' food processing equipment. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and technical professional seeking to grow their career in a commercially focused, technical role.
Role Purpose
Provide technical and application support to the sales team and ensure the sale of the optimal solution for the customer.
Responsibilities
- Create and deliver compliant, professionally produced proposals within defined timeframes.
- Ensure proposal documents follow standard formatting and quality standards.
- Prepare and review the commercial aspects of bids, ensuring all services are included in the final price to the customer.
- Provide technical sales and application support to the sales team.
- Support the sales team during on-site visits as part of the proposal submission process.
- Follow the defined process for producing costings and generating proposal information.
- Promote best practices for layout and content of all proposal submissions.
- Prepare handover documentation to project managers when bids are successful.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to read and produce drawings using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
- An engineering background (Mechanical, Food, Electrical) is desirable.
- Experience working as part of an engineering or technical team is advantageous but not necessary.
- Confident in using Office 365 tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Customer-focused with a passion for building strong relationships.
- Strong written skills to produce technical specifications and quotations.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Methodical working approach and comfortable with data and numbers.
- Desire to continually learn and develop.
