Job summary

Gearing Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer for industrial HVAC to join a specialist engineering business delivering bespoke HVAC, ventilation and odour control solutions across water, wastewater, energy and industrial sectors. You will combine mechanical or process engineering knowledge with sales acumen.

You will review customer specifications, size equipment, develop technical and commercial proposals, attend site visits and maintain CRM records while developing

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Process engineering background with a degree or equivalent.
• Experience in technical sales, estimating, or business development in HVAC/water.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical and commercial enquiries across HVAC, ventilation, and odour control.
• Review customer specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Develop suitable technical solutions with the design and engineering teams.
• Select and size equipment and system components.
• Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals.
• Attend customer meetings, site visits, and technical discussions.
• Manage technical queries and commercial negotiations through to order.
• Develop opportunities within the water and wastewater sectors.
• Build and maintain customer relationships and identify new opportunities.
• Maintain CRM records and support industry events and exhibitions.

Qualifications & Experience for Technical Sales Engineer

• Mechanical or Process engineering background with a degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent experience
• Experience in technical sales, estimating, business development, or a similar engineering role
• Experience within HVAC, ventilation, water, wastewater, or a similar industrial environment
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications

Desirable

• HVAC design experience
• Knowledge of odour control systems, such as chemical scrubbers, biofilters, or activated carbon
• Experience working with water utilities, wastewater treatment works, or EfW facilities
• Knowledge of water industry standards and framework tendering
• Existing contacts within the water, wastewater, HVAC, or industrial ventilation sectors
