The Opportunity

At Gist, technology plays a critical role in keeping our business moving and supporting our continued growth with M&S.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager on an 18-month fixed term contract to take ownership of the technical delivery of a critical project across our Central Services functions, with a focus on delivering a new corporate system integration for our Health, Safety & Sustainability team.

This is a role for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of business, technology and delivery. You will work closely with senior business stakeholders to turn business needs into practical technology solutions that deliver measurable outcomes and because we are a lean Technology team, this isn’t a role that fits neatly into one box, you will shape requirements, manage project delivery, provide solutions, and make sure change creates genuine value for the business.

What you'll be doing

As the Technical Project Manager, you will own projects from initial idea through to successful delivery and benefits realisation, making sure technology supports the right business outcomes. You will:

• Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions across the business.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand pain points, challenge requirements and identify opportunities.
• Manage projects from requirements gathering, capability assessment through to planning, implementation and delivery.
• Build and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets and resource plans.
• Lead and coordinate cross functional teams across technology, business functions and third‑party suppliers.
• Identify and proactively manage risks, issues and dependencies, keeping projects moving and on track.
• Provide clear, concise updates to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Make sure solutions meet relevant security, compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Build effective relationships with third‑party suppliers and vendors.
• Promote strong project delivery practices and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Work with business stakeholders to capture requirements aligning to strategic objectives and measurable business value.

This amazing role will see you connecting the dots betweenbusiness strategy and technical delivery, working with people across the organisation to turn ideas and challenges into practical solutions and, ultimately, measurable results.

What we're looking for

We are looking for a confident technical project delivery professional who can turn business needs into real results. You will have experience in delivering larger scale, multimillion technical projects, managing full end-to-end delivery and working with senior stakeholders across Agile and Waterfall environments.

You will be a strong communicator and collaborative problem solver, comfortable coordinating and leading diverse teams, navigating complexity and translating technology into clear business outcomes. You will be commercially savvy and solutions focused, able to keep projects moving, within budget constraints and making sure they deliver genuine value to the business.

It would be great if you also had:

• Experience in a FMCG or logistics and supply chain environment
• Exposure to enterprise platforms such as SAP ECC, S4 HANA, HCM or MS 365
• Experience of working in a regulatory or compliance driven environment such as payroll, finance, or health, safety and environmental.
• Exposure of working within a broader programme or portfolio structure.

Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum
Hours:Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Location:This role will be based from our Head Office in Chineham, but you will also have the opportunity to work hybrid either from home or other locations. Applicants much be able to commit being present in Chineham 2-3 days a week.
