CONFIDENTIAL EXECUTIVE SEARCH is seeking a Technical & Product Director to own the technical integrity and management of a high-performance doorset portfolio. You will lead product strategy, development, testing, certification and regulatory readiness, while guiding a skilled team and reporting to the leadership group.

This role demands senior leadership experience in fire-rated construction products, deep standards knowledge, and the ability to communicate complex topics to the board with

Qualifications

• 10-15 years in fire doors, fenestration, fire-resistant products or other regulated construction products.
• Senior leadership across product development, design engineering, product management or technical stewardship.
• Hands-on experience of testing, certification and technical files, and working with certification bodies or regulators.
• Deep knowledge of fire door construction, components, testing and failure modes, and BS/EN standards, UKCA/CE marking and certification schemes.
• Track record delivering complex, cross-functional technical projects and leading teams through change.
• Strong product lifecycle, change control, risk assessment and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to colleagues, customers and the board with commercial judgement.

• Lead product strategy and portfolio integrity for a market-leading range.
• Own the development lifecycle decisions with disciplined change control.
• Manage testing, certification, evidence, and relationships with certification bodies.
• Interpret and prepare for regulatory change, including BS to EN transitions.
• Set standards for technical governance and risk management.
• Lead and develop the technical function across engineering, delivery, testing and certification.
• Collaborate with the leadership team on strategy, risk and investment decisions.
